Though its public programs and publications, the Center for the Book is a strong public advocate of books, reading, literacy and libraries.
Highlights include a brief history of the National Book Festival (2008); a 1996 book of photographs of libraries and literacy centers across the world; winning ideas for library friends; groups (1984); Profiles of literacy organizations that have won Library of Congress literacy awards, 2013-2016; and how the Library of Congress promotes “the joy of reading” (2015).
